Shipping FAQs

When your basket is shipped, you will receive a USPS shipping confirmation number from the USPS postal service. The link usually specifies USPS was notified that the “package is available for pickup.” That means the basket was shipped that day.

With our quick shipping, the basket actually may arrive before the USPS “delivered” scan appears, sometimes later in the evening. We use the US Postal Service priority mail because it’s less expensive than UPS/Fed Ex to most places, without Saturday and “gas surcharges.” It’s a better choice for our customers!

Orders received by 2 pm EST Monday-Friday usually will be shipped the next business day. Orders received on Saturday or Sunday usually will be shipped on Monday. Count the next day after you order as the 1st business day.

We get very busy during holidays, so shipping and delivery may take somewhat longer.

USPS Priority 2-3 day Mail shipping charges: Shipping is added to your invoice/shopping cart when you order. The regular USPS 3-day priority mail shipping charge runs from about $12 to $15, less along the East Coast depending on basket size. (We ship from Philadelphia.) Our baskets are substantial–no cheap mass produced junk foods, so please don’t compare us with cheaper shipping of mass-produced baskets. We make each basket to order! Count the day after we ship as “day 1.” (

USPS 1-day Express Mail.  USPS Express shipping is available, but we cannot guarantee the exact date of delivery. In the majority of cases it will be 1-2 days after we ship (not counting Sundays/Holidays), depending on the recipient’s address. We sometimes are able to ship the same day we receive the order (if ordered early enough) and don’t charge extra for delivery to the post office, as regular Priority doesn’t ship the same day. For Express, this means the package usually will be delivered the next day after shipping, except for some long-distance addresses, or weekend delivery.

Hospital Delivery

The good news is that patients spend less time in the hospital these days. But this can impact shipping to a patient.

If you are shipping to a hospital address, please keep in mind that hospital stays are shorter than you might think and that hospitals receive mail at a set time once a day — and not at all on weekends. Therefore, if a package arrives after the hospital’s daily delivery, they may not accept or deliver the package that day. In addition, hospital mailrooms are closed on weekends. So please be sure that the recipient is likely to be in the hospital at least 4-5 days after you send us the order, not counting weekends. You may prefer to send it to the home address.

Therefore, sending to the home address frequently is a better option for you, with our regular 3-day priority delivery (including Saturdays.) If the package returns from a hospital because the patient has been discharged, we will refresh it without a “re-stocking” fee but will charge for the reshipping. (We will contact you for the home address.)

Deliveries to business addresses

If choosing a business address, remember that most businesses are not open weekends. A basket normally delivered on a Saturday will be held until Monday. (We can check for you if you need the package delivered on a Saturday and know the business is open–in some cases Saturday delivery may be possible.) Some mail rooms/reception don’t deliver their packages the same day, so please check with the company if the employee hasn’t received the package but tracking shows it was delivered to the address. Sorry, but we cannot be responsible for a company’s lack of due speed in getting mail to its employees–sometimes a mail room needs a little internal push!
